
PEKIN ~ Kelly Dee Kerr, 52, of Pekin, passed away at 9:54 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at her home.
Born March 19, 1962 in Peoria to Billie and Mardell (Krisher) Kerr, she married Albert Harper on April 11, 1990.
Surviving are two daughters, Sonni (Kevin) Morrow of Pekin and Amy Johnson of Pekin; one son, Charles (Sara) Hutchison, Jr. of Pekin; seven grandchildren; five sisters, Melissa (Rick) Wilson, Anita Sherrel and Billie Jo Kerr, all of Oklahoma, Jonni McDaniel of Topeka and Sherylyn (Ron) Governo of Tennessee; five brothers, Benjamin (Norma) Wagens of Springfield, David (Judy) Ganion of Florida, Paul (Jeanne) Talley of East Peoria, Bradley Kerr and Bryant (Sharon) Kerr, both of Oklahoma; and one sister-in-law, Bridget Tackman of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Randall Tackman and one nephew, Todd Wagens.
Kelly had attended Real Life Church in Marquette Heights.
She had worked as a waitress for many area restaurants including the Cobbler Corner in Pekin and the Bartonville Family Restaurant.
Kelly was a loving mother and grandmother. God and family were her main priorities. She always found a way to be joyful, even in tough times.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Real Life Church at 106 Grant Road in Marquette Heights. Visitation and fellowship will follow the service until 7 p.m. Cremation rites were accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to establish an education fund for her grandchildren.
