Born April 2, 1958 in Pekin, he was a son of Gaylen Edward and Marcella Rose (Atkinson) Black. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Sharon Black Folsom, Edward Black and Anna Black Rudd.
Surviving are one son, Thomas Colwell and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Kim was a self-employed carpenter.
He was very sociable, enjoying music, making walking sticks and masonry. He had a love for Boston Terrier dogs.
There are no scheduled services at this time. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
