Larry C Fravell

Born Jan. 16, 1940 in Orient to Roy C. and Ruby (Isaacs) Fravell, he married Doris Juanita (McClain) Mobley on Oct. 5, 1968 in Eureka. She died Feb. 9, 2002 in Creve Coeur. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Robert A. Mobley; three brothers and five sisters.

Surviving are one son, Darrel R. (Carla) Mobley of Creve Coeur; one daughter, Brenda J. Ratliff of East Peoria; five grandchildren, Douglas A. Mobley of Bloomington, Melissa R. Thompson, Sara M. Thompson, both of East Peoria, Jonathan A. Mobley of San Diego, CA and Tiffany R. Mobley, of Creve Coeur; two great-granddaughters, Isabella Mobley and Lily Mobley and nine brothers and sisters, Edward Fravell, Louise Fravell, Deanna Fravell, all of Orient, Judy (Jerry) Verschueren of West Frankfort, Dale (Sandy) Fravell, Bill Fravell, both of East Peoria, Charles (Betty) Fravell of Paoli, IN, Bobby (Jan) Fravell of Pensacola, FL and Donald Fravell of Studio City, CA.

Larry last worked for Corvette Cleaning in East Peoria as a project manager. He previously worked many years for Coca Cola.

Larry served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1962. He was a life member and past commander of Martin-Courtney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4835 in Creve Coeur. He also was a member of Creve Coeur American Legion Post 1234 and Paul Towne Memorial AMVETS Post 169 in North Pekin.

He was a member of Hilton Lodge 1143, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons and Abbas Grotto, both in East Peoria.

His memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur, where visitation will be one hour before the service. The Rev. John E. Plunkett will officiate. Military rites will be accorded by United States Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team immediately following the service at the funeral home. Cremation has been accorded.
