

Born May 29, 1944 in Decatur to Clarence and Helen (Neff) Milsteadt, he married Sandra Kay Storm on June 20, 1964 in Peoria. She died February 17, 2024 in Marquette Heights. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Milsteadt.
Surviving are one daughter, Kandi (Brian) Lee of Pekin; two sons, Larry Milsteadt, Jr. of Creve Coeur and Mark Milsteadt of Pekin; five grandsons, Drew Hannan of Overland Park, Kansas, Larry (Chelsea) Milsteadt, III of Lake Camelot, Cody (Taylor) Milsteadt of Pekin, Karson Milsteadt and Ian Milsteadt, both of East Peoria and seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves his beloved dog, Daisy.
Larry worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1994 as an assembler.
He loved golf and in retirement worked as a groundskeeper for Mt. Hawley Country Club for 7 years and then the Country Club of Peoria for 20 years, last working in 2018.
He was a huge fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Cardinals. Due to his love of sports, he was a longtime official for basketball mostly for junior and senior high school.
He lived for his grandsons. He always looked forward to attending every activity and sporting event they were involved in.
Larry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
His private service will be held in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Deacon Timothy Blanchard will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
