

Born August 11, 1936 in Peoria to Harry M. and Mabel E. (Howard) Roach, he married Ruth A. Heyen on August 28, 1954 in Corinth, MS. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Pamela Cuevas, Lori A. Major and Susan D. (Wendell) Wilson, all of Pekin; one son, Larry M. (Dawn) Roach of Pekin; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Howard “Mike” (Patti) Roach of Orange, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carol Ray.
Larry worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 1987 as the manufacturing superintendent at the Mapleton Foundry. In 1989, he then started working part time for Caterpillar in their central hiring facility. He also had worked as a ranger at Lick Creek Golf Course in Pekin. As an avid golfer, Larry was proud to have made four hole-in-ones at Lick Creek.
A St. Louis Cardinals fan, Larry was formerly a member of Pekin Moose Family Center 916 and Empire Lodge 126, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in Pekin.
He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Stephen D. Barnes will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Private inurnment will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
