Leslie A Sly

She was born September 18, 1968 in Omaha, NE to Howard E. and Delina M. (Cole) Sly.

Surviving are her parents of Pekin; one son, Grayson Sly of Pekin; one brother, Jonathan (Yvonne) Sly of Fort Wayne, IN; one niece, Madeline Sly and one nephew, Logan Sly, both of Fort Wayne, IN.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents.

Leslie received her Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences and Public Services from Illinois Central College. She also was a former member of Sweet Adelines in Peoria.

She worked as a paralegal and administrative assistant for Ganon & Shapiro, P.C. Law Firm in Peoria.

Leslie loved spending time with her son, Grayson, who was the light of her life. He gave her a reason to get up every morning.

She attended Faith Baptist Church in Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Timothy P. Collard will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the church for an educational scholarship established for Grayson at Faith Baptist Christian School, 1501 Howard Ct., Pekin, IL 61554.
