

She was born in Rosiclare, but grew up in Miami Beach, Florida. She was a retired real estate agent. Lyla (Galen) was married in the First United Methodist Church of Rosiclare. Lyla was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. She shared her musical gift with others throughout her life. Lyla had a beautiful singing voice.
Survivors include her children, Lydia (Jason) Butler of Pekin, Heather (Bobby) Clapp of Smithland, Kentucky and Gower (Jill) Talley of Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren, Sarah, Savannah, Amie, Chelsea, Milo and Grace; three great-grandchildren, Audrey, Conner, and Caleb as well as her brother, Edward (Willie) Wood of Denver, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Galen Talley and her parents, Lyle and Anita Wood.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Hardin County Funeral Service in Rosiclare, with interment in Howard Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. Sunday until service time at the funeral home.
Local arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
