Lynda Sue Adkins

Born June 29, 1943 in Pekin to Austin Jacob and Clarissa Sue (Herren) Natterstad, she married John Terry Adkins on September 17, 1963 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Stacey (Earl) Candler of Pekin; one son, John (Nicki) Adkins of South Pekin; one grandson, Nicholas Austin Malavolti of Pekin and one brother, Gary Austin (Roanna) Natterstad of Virginia.

Her parents preceded her in death.

A graduate of Brown’s Business School in Peoria, she formerly worked for Dr. Rudolph Urban as an office manager for 10 years. She also had worked for Pekin Public Schools District 108 as a lunchroom and playground supervisor at Washington School for 12 years.

Lynda liked to read, play bingo and work Sudoku puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and taking family vacations. She was fond of her Boston Terriers.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin.

Her private graveside will be Monday, January 3, 2022 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Daniel J. Bishop will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
