M. Joyce Stone

Born November 18, 1938 in Thebes to Charles Leland and Mary Catherine (Bauer) Feller, she married Robert Dale "Bob" Stone on April 21, 1956 in Forest City. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Susan L. Stone of Summerville, South Carolina; one son, Brian K. Stone of Pekin; two sisters, Iva Mae Clark and Dianne Witwer, both of Fairfield and one brother, Robert (Tracie) Feller of Columbia, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Vern Feller and Charles Feller, Jr.

A homemaker, Joyce had worked as a sales associate at Bergner's in Pekin.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Pekin, and its Ladies Missionary Fellowship and Primetimers Class. She also was a member of the Spring Lake Home Extension. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Pekin, where she taught the Ladies Bible Class on Tuesday mornings and helped in the nursery. She formerly served as an election judge in Spring Lake Township and volunteered at Pekin Hospital and Pekin Manor.

Joyce enjoyed reading, baking, making crafts and doing needlework.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Pastor Randy D. Justus will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito.
