He was born July 14, 2012 in Peoria to Cassie Carter and Brett Rice.
Surviving are his parents of Pekin; maternal Grandmother, Christine Carter of Washington; maternal Grandfather, Shane Downard of Alaska; paternal Grandmother, Cindy Johnson of Pekin; five maternal great grandparents and one paternal great grandparent.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather.
Maddix loved Johnny Cash music. He touched a lot of lives in his short time and during his long battle with Mitochondrial Disease.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Chuck Grogan will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
