

She was born November 6, 1982 in Peoria to Kevin and Julie (Maxwell) Brown.
Surviving are her parents; one daughter, Aylah Jean Sankovich; two brothers, Dustin Brown and Cody (Stephanie) Brown; her sister-in-law, Lisa Bumbalough; five nieces and nephews, Macey (Kyle) Reagan, Mary Brown, Lindsay Brown, Morgan Brown and Carter Brown; one great-niece, Oakley Reagan and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her.
She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Gracie.
Maegan was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Ball.
She was an officer and chief of police for the South Pekin Police Department before retiring and had previously worked as a Missouri State Trooper.
Meagan was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea (Camp Red Cloud), Kuwait and Bagram, Afghanistan.
She had played on the All Army Softball Team in Korea and competed in a tournament hosted in Japan. She loved and cared for animals especially her dog, Gracie. She enjoyed shopping and running. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her niece and nephews.
Meagan was a member of the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday December 5, 2023 at the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. A brief memorial service and military rites will be at 5 p.m. at the church. Cheryl Sherwood will officiate. Military honors will be performed by the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
