Marian D Sayles

Born October 1, 1923 in Carroll County, TN to Thomas and Ernestine (Morgan) Chandler, she married Clyde Edgar Sayles on October 4, 1936 in Paris, TN.  He died January 29, 1998 in Peoria.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters (Betty Brown and Paula Lewis), daughter-in-law (Tammy Sayles), 1 brother, and 2 sisters.

Surviving are 4 sons, Don (Marie) Sayles of Crossville, TN, Larry Sayles, Dwight “Duke” (Teresa) Sayles, and Jeffery (Brenda) Sayles, all of Pekin; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Rachel Williams of Huntingdon, TN and Marty Tyler of Hopedale.

Marian worked as a cashier for many years at Unclaimed Freight Store and Vogel’s, both in Pekin.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, doing word searches, and especially being with her family.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Illinois Chapter, 606 West Glen Avenue, Peoria, IL 61614.
