

Marie Claire Hannah (nee Reichert), a sparkling personality that brought color and life to this world on the 4th of July in 1942. Like the firecracker baby that she was, Marie thoroughly loved the holiday she was born to and the vivid shade of red associated with it. She was best known for her nature as an artist, which manifested itself through her skill as a cosmetologist, her joy in helping others as a massage therapist, and her inherent talents as a painter. She especially loved creating portraits of others. To those around her, Marie was a woman who never knew a stranger and loved helping others at every presented opportunity. She was known for her love of animals, but especially frogs and her pet cats. She was affectionately called Grandma Frog by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marie Claire Hannah of Cocoa, FL died at Solaris Healthcare Center in Merritt Island, FL from complications of Hemorrhagic Stroke on May 10, 2025. She was born in Peoria, IL on July 4, 1942, to Marian L. Reichert (nee Memmen) and Ernest P. Reichert. When Marie was a year old, her father, a sharecropper, moved their family to Faribault, MN. During their life on the farm, she developed a love for animals. They returned to Pekin, IL when she was 12 yrs old where she attended St. Joseph’s elementary and was a 1960 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
In 1966 Marie married Paul F. Boyer and they had 3 children together. She was widowed in 1979. Despite the challenges she faced as a single mother, Marie put herself through cosmetology school and opened her own beauty salon, The Perfect Touch, a few years later. With an interest in helping others live healthier lives, Marie also studied under a sports massage therapist and began offering therapeutic massages as well.
On April 14,1990 she married her high school sweetheart, Harlan Hannah. Where they relocated to Cocoa, FL with her 2 youngest children. She became a licensed Massage therapist in Florida and continue this love of helping people with massage and hair. Marie was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church of Merritt Island, FL.
Marie is preceded in death by her older sister, Dorothy Pitheon (nee Reichert) and both of her parents, Marian and Ernest Reichert and two nephews Ross and Ryan of Stephen and Karen Reichert. She is survived by her husband, Harlan Hannah of 35 years marriage; her 3 children, Carol Ann Worthington (nee Boyer) and husband Ty of Collinsville, IL, Mary Brooks (nee Boyer) and husband Dave of Cocoa, FL, and Jeffrey Boyer and wife Kim of Clover, SC. She is also survived by her remaining siblings, Phillip Reichert and wife Sharon of Pekin, IL and their children Chrstine, Michelle, Cindy, Jennifer and Ryan, Elizabeth Lohman (nee Reichert) and husband George of Pekin, IL, Stephen Reichert and wife Karen of Normal, IL and their son Matthew, and Val Reichert of Pekin, IL. Also surviving Marie are her sister, Dorthy and Richard Pitheon’s children Tom, Claudia, Tim, Mark, and Michelle, her 2 granddaughters, Kira Whitfield (nee Worthington) and husband James, and Heather Marie Cornish (nee Worthington) and husband Scott. Marie’s lineage includes 8 great grandchildren, Tobias, Liam, Kyler, Ezra, Finan, Ella, Matthew, and her namesake Claire Ann-Marie.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. There will be no visitation. Private inurnment will be in Green Valley Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. An additional memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island, Florida.
