

Born March 4, 1932 in Pekin to Calogero “Carl” and Maria “Mary” (Mitrani) Ingrassia, he married Betty L. Buchanan on April 7, 1973 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Mark S. Ingrassia of Pekin and Dr. Brian M. Ingrassia of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.
Marty graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1951. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 1992 after 41 years of service, last working on the paint line in Building RR in East Peoria. He was a proud member of the UAW Local 974.
He was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan since the 1940s. He was also an avid follower of the Bears and Bulls, as well as the University of Illinois Fighting Illini and PCHS football and basketball.
Marty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Rodger P. Abatie will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, and also one hour before the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
