

Born March 31, 1927 in rural Fiatt to Elbert and Maggie (White) Nelson, she married Everett L. "Kelly" Calhoun on March 10, 1945 in New Port, Rhode Island. He died July 22, 2008 in East Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis G. (Jesse) Ramey of Cookville, Tennessee; three sons, Steve (Janie) Calhoun of Washington, Les (Debra) Calhoun of East Peoria and Andy (Tammie) Calhoun of Metamora; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Irvin (Marcella) Nelson of Washington.
Marjorie had attended First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur.
A homemaker, she enjoyed painting, decorating, sewing, crafts and artwork. She also loved to play cards and liked to cook and bake.
Her graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview. Rev. David Lynn will officiate. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to her church at 425 Rusche St. Creve Coeur, IL 61610.
