

Born April 4, 1957 in Lincoln to Herman and Jean (Whiteman) Lumpkin, Sr., she married Donnie J. Passmore on October 4, 1974 in Mason City. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeremy “JJ” (Kandace) Passmore and Brandon (Danielle) Passmore, both of Manito; five grandchildren, Rhiana Passmore, Trace Passmore, Chance Passmore, Isabella Passmore and Jaylen Passmore; three step-grandchildren, Tommy Wood, Dylan Wood and Lexi Wood; one brother, Herman (Jan) Lumpkin, Jr. of Quincy, Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jeff Lumpkin and Mike Lumpkin.
Marlene worked in customer service for many years at Corporate Express.
Marlene was a selfless, kindhearted woman who would do anything for anyone including strangers. Her biggest joy in life was being a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and being grandma “B”, and as her kids would say, she was the best. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning and water skiing.
A celebration on Marlene’s life will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Forman Center in Manito, Illinois. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
