Martha M Thompson

Mrs. Thompson was born one of 15 children on December 27, 1925 in Philadelphia, Missouri to Ernest Frank Meyer and Anna Laura Begley Meyer. On July 21, 1941, she married Joseph Russell Allen in Hannibal, Missouri. They had three children, Eunice Axtell, of East Peoria, Joseph E. Allen of Mount Juliet, Tennessee and Randall Allen of Peoria. They survive their Mother.

Also surviving are grandsons, David Russell “Rusty” Foust of East Peoria, Joseph D. Allen of Apex, North Carolina, Kevin Allen of Bartonville and Ryan Allen of Peoria; granddaughters, Robyn Foust of East Peoria, Rhonda Foust of Peoria, Marcia Foust of Creve Coeur, Stacie Davis of Old Hickory, Tennessee and Michele Allen of Overland, Kansas; two sisters, Virginia Lee Winkler of Festus, Missouri and Evelyn Frances Glore of Lacon; three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Meyers of Palmyra, Missouri, Marguerite Meyers of Macomb and Helen Jondle of Muscatine, Iowa.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Russell Allen of East Peoria, Leonard Smith of Bartonville, and Jay Thompson of Creve Coeur and a Grand-son, Rocky Neil Foust of East Peoria.

Mrs. Thompson operated a day care out of her home for many years.

She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur and was very involved with the youth programs at the church.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Creve Coeur, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Pastor David Lynn will officiate.  Burial will be in Fon du Lac Cemetery in East Peoria.
