Mary J "Peggy" Patterson

Born October 21, 1938 in Hamletsburg to Loran and Januita (Wiley) Hearell, she married Charles Laverne Patterson on April 21, 1960 in Peoria. He died November 7, 2005 in rural Manito. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are three daughters, Carol (Rex) Tassart of Pekin, Charlotte (Robert) Shumaker of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Frankie (Rick) VanNattan of Pekin, and; four sons, Michael Patterson and Don Patterson, both of Pekin, John (Beth) Patterson of Washington, and Bobby (Paulette) Parmely of Metropolis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice (Tom) Applewhite of Goshen, Indiana and Margaret (Leroy) Cutshaw of Joliet. She also leaves a special friend, Glenda Baker of Ridgeway.

Peggy worked for the City of Pekin as a bus driver, retiring in 2002. She later worked as a school bus driver for Hoyle Transportation in Pekin, last working Thursday.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Peggy enjoyed driving her school bus and working in her yard and garden.

Her visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin. Private burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
