Mary A Richardson

Born February 28, 1927 in Rock Island to Christopher and Mable (Thompson) Montag, she married James Dale Richardson on August 28, 1954 in Elgin. He died August 14, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Richardson; two sisters, Laura Wise and Sharon Means; and one brother, Frank “Pete” Montag.

Surviving are one son, George (Marcia) Richardson of Pekin; two granddaughters, Molly Behrends and Hannah (Aaron) Ganschow, both of Peoria; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Behrends and Ben Behrends; and three brothers, Eugene (Bev) Montag and Joseph (Darlene) Montag, both of Moline, and Christopher (Sharon) Montag of Arizona.

Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin where she participated in a Bible study.

Mary enjoyed bird watching and collecting bird figurines. She cherished her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial of cremated remains will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richardson Great-grandchildren in care of the funeral home.
