Born November 18, 1946 in Peoria to Paul and Elizabeth (Adams) Evelsizer, she married Alfred Jerry Suttle. She later married Robert “Bubba” Smith. He preceded her in death, along with one brother, Paul Evelsizer.
Surviving are four children, Scott Suttle of Colorado, Lisa (Jimmie) Smith of Morton, Sherrie (Ron) Culp of Morton and Michelle Ray of Bloomington; three stepchildren, Robbie Smith of Peoria, Rhonda (Matt) Smith of Eureka and Stacey (Rick) Caroll of Dunlap; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Mary worked for Bemis Bag Company in Peoria for 34 years, retiring when Bemis closed as a scheduler.
She was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and at times loved to play the slots.
Mary was of the Christian faith.
A private family celebration of life will be held. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
