Michael Lawrence Bishop

He was born April 19, 1951 in Peoria to Lawrence and Celia (Jones) Bishop. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Sonna Bishop; four children, Jeremey (Loretta) Bishop, Chad (Tammy) Bishop, David Walliker and Debra Sinks; three grandchildren, Jessica (Zachary) Gosnell, Cassidy Bishop and Brendan (McKayla) Bishop; two great-grandchildren, Harper and Levi Gosnell; and two siblings, Gregory (Linda) Bishop and Jannette Norwood.

Mike was a Caterpillar Inc. retiree, a beloved freemason for 24 years at Galva Masonic Lodge 0243 and a member of Finger Lakes Fishing Club in Victoria, Illinois.

He loved spending time with his family and best friend, Ruby the Jack Russell. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing cards.

Mike was a member of the Elmira United Presbyterian Church.

A gathering celebrating Mike’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
