Mr. Hay was probably one of the biggest reasons I ultimately had the skills and interest to become an Electrical Engineer.   Thanks Mr. Hay.

Thinking of all of the Hays and reflecting on some great memories of my high school and college years. Peace to you, Mr. Hay!

Linda, we know you and your family have gone through a lot while dealing with Mike's illness.  Please know that our prayers and sympathies go out to all of you in your loss.

To the Hay family: So sorry to read about Mike. All of you will be in my prayers. I knew Mike from the tropical fish club and we all enjoyed his sense of humor, his knowledge, his friendship and his great personality. It was always so obvious how much he loved his family. He will certainly be remembered by us all.

Linda, you gave so much of yourself as you accompanied Mike on this final phase of his life on earth.  Your steadfast support and love for Mike was evident day in and out. 

I had the pleasure of working with Mike at Pekin High School. Loved his unique sense of humor. He was always looking at the bright side of matters. 
My daughter also had him for her teacher. She always said he managed to have time to really explain problems . He set a great example of a top notch teacher.

I had Mr. Hay at PCHS back in '80 or '81.  I always thought him to be very intelligent and funny.  He joked with our class one time that once a year he washed his beard and made soup from what came out.

Mr. Hay was one of my favorite teachers at PCHS and I have fond memories from being in his class.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Mr. Hay was a terrific teacher. He had a great impact on so many of us as students. My condolences to the family.

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Hay. He was not only a good math teacher, but a good friend to this then young teenager when he needed one. I actually told him once during my junior year in his math class that my dog ate my homework. He told me that excuse would work once in his class. He, of course, saw right through me. Puts a smile on my face to this day. Godspeed, Mr. Hay.

I enjoyed having Mr. Hay as a math teacher at PCHS.  My condolences to the family at your time of loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I remember going over to Beth's house for the first time when I was in school still and Mr. Hay telling me I could call him by his first name.  I just smiled and said, "Ih no I can't."  I thought it would be disrespectful.  He was a great man, wonderful teacher, loving husband, and father.  He will be missed by many.

Mr. Hay was a great teacher. Treated students with respect. 

I had morning coffee with  Mike for many years at East Campus.   He was an excellent teacher and I enjoyed knowing him. My sympathy is extended to the family.

Mr. Hay was my algebra teacher freshman year.  I really enjoyed his stories and he was always willing to go above and beyond to help his students.

So sorry to hear about Mike's passing. As a science teacher, I always appreciated his astronomy knowledge. I also have many fond memories of his great humor at the lunch table at PCHS.

Linda, Doug, Beth, Mary, kids and Glenna,  It seems like you guys have been a part of my life forever!  Your dad was probably the smartest person I knew.  He was well versed on many subjects and always willing to share his knowledge.  I'll miss his big laugh and sometimes corny jokes.  He was a true scholar and friend.  I love you guys and pray you find peace.
