

MARQUETTE HEIGHTS ~ Mitchell T. Jobe, 50, of Marquette Heights, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at his residence after fighting a brave battle with cancer for four years.
Born July 23, 1962 in Bakersfield, California to William and Grethel (Crawford) Jobe, he married Linda Powell on January 14, 1982 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Sara (Jeremiah) Althiser of Creve Coeur; two brothers, Mark (Melanie) Jobe and Mike (Jo Ellen) Jobe, both of Marquette Heights; one sister, Mellissa Rice of Morton and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mitch had worked for Mitsubishi Motors North America, starting in 1987 and last working in December 2008.
He served in the United States Army.
He was an avid bowler and Minnesota Vikings fan. He also loved fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Mitch's family would like to thank OSF Hospice and the staff at Illinois Cancer Care for their assistance and compassion during his illness.
His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Tom Pisano will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team and the Military Funeral Honors Team. Cremation rites will be accorded.
