

Born June 29, 1957 in Pekin, she was daughter of Franklin D. and Loretta J. (Kohler) Shue. She was preceded in death by her parents and her best friend, Dessie Louse.
Surviving are her three children, Shonda Depew and Thomas Depew both of Pekin and Kenneth Depew II of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Kassandra Wilson, V Depew, Cheyanne Gosnell, Thomas Depew, Jr., Aubrey Grimes and Christopher Depew; two brothers, Franklin Shue, Jr and Roger (Jo) Shue, both of Pekin; and her good friend, Kathy.
Monica had worked in security at Pekin Estates for two years, retiring in 2015. She previously worked as a CNA for 23 years.
She enjoyed shopping and playing games on her tablet. Monica loved to play Bingo at the Miller Center in Pekin. She liked to read romance novels, watch horror movies, and listened to music by Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, and BTS. Monica also collected wolves and dreamcatchers.
A gathering celebrating Monica’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
