Nelson G Luft

Born December 3, 1951 in Pekin to Paul N. “Swede” and Marjorie J. (Hackler) Luft, he married Christie J. Strope on September 14, 1984 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Dani L. Mason of Pekin; one sister, F. Joanne Miller of Pekin and one niece, Marjorie A. Miller of Parker, CO.

His parents preceded him in death.

A 1970 graduate of Pekin Community High School, he graduated in 1974 from Northwood University in Midland, MI with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Automotive Marketing.

Nelson worked as the longtime manager of the family auto dealership, Luft Volkswagen Jeep Eagle in North Pekin and later owned and operated Nelson Luft Auto Sales in Pekin.

He liked archery, hunting and boating. He was a member of the Pekin Archery Club and Pekin Moose Family Center 916. Nelson enjoyed spending time with his dogs and working with and helping others with computers.

He was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.

Private family services will be held and no visitation is planned. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
