

Born August 8, 1927 in Joplin, MO to Wayne and Beatrice (Winters) Roelofson, she married Wilford Neil Carter on August 18, 1946 in Pekin. He died December 4, 2011 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Margie Gent, Betty Flier Bennet and Helen Adams; one brother Wayne Roelofson and one nephew, Curtis Gent.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane (Roland) Hipsley of McIntosh, FL and Debbie (Dennis) Farlin of Bee Branch, AR; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Clements of Greenbrier, AR and Tiffany (Cody) Watkins of Bee Branch, AR; four great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Clements, Lacey Clements, Kayson Watkins and Rayce Watkins; one niece, Karen (Dave) Champlin of Pekin; one nephew, Phil Roelofson of Crystal Lake and several nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Norma was very musically gifted. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano and organ at Faith Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member.
She loved sewing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Mr. Kenneth Seest will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, Central Illinois Chapter, 612 West Glen Avenue, Peoria, IL 61614.
