

Born September 8, 1932 in Hamilton, Alabama, he was the son of Charles and Odie (Armstrong) Clark. He married Ida June Sanderfield on April 14, 1984 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Kathy (David) Vetter of Pekin; one son, Keith (Coleen) Clark of Glasford; one stepdaughter, Brenda Gabel of Fenton, Michigan; four grandsons, Chad Vetter, Jason Vetter, James Vetter, Cole Clark; six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one stepson, Gregory Elliott; five brothers and sisters and numerous half siblings.
Oather proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He worked as an operator at Corn Products in Pekin for many years.
Oather was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Drew Williquette will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2025 at Green Hill Cemetery in San Jose, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Army.
