

Born July 2, 1933 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Robert E. and Emma E. (Riggs) Campbell, he married Roberta Louise Flynn on May 22, 1954 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David L. (Kathryn) Campbell of Pekin and Scott Alan (Yvette) Campbell of Brainerd, Minnesota; one daughter, Deborah Lynn (Phillip) Migit of Groveland; nine grandchildren, Erin Nichole Campbell and Shauna Marie (Jason) Gilmore, both of Pekin, Anna Marie Campbell, Andrew Scott Campbell, Haley Mae Campbell, and Heather Joy Campbell, all of Brainerd, Minnesota, and Alex Paul Migit, Ethan Joseph Migit, and Katelynn Shay Migit, all of Groveland; one niece, Brenda Kay Shaver of Raymore, Missouri; and one nephew, Eric S. Campbell of Fort Pierce, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister (Imogene Shaver), two brothers (Brance A. Campbell and Charles T. Campbell), and three nephews (Jerry Shaver, Martin Campbell, and Jeffrey Campbell).
A United States Air Force veteran, he served from March 12, 1953 to March 11, 1957. He attained the rank of Tech Sergeant. He later served 9 years in the Reserves.
Paul worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 25 years as an agent in the Pekin office and later retired from the Peoria office in 1984. He also was a Pekin Park Police Officer, last as Captain, and a dispatcher for the Tazewell/Pekin Consolidated Communications Center in Pekin.
Paul was a charter member of First Assembly of God in Pekin, where he served for many years as a worship leader, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, church board member, and on numerous committees and boards. He also was on staff in the position of Pastoral Care for many years.
Paul will be remembered for his love of his family, his steadfast faith in God, and his joy when singing about the hope of Heaven. Paul especially enjoyed Southern Gospel music.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006at First Assembly of God in Pekin. The Rev. Quinn McKenzie will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded.
