Peggy F Layne

Born November 18, 1924 in Pekin to Peter and Rebecca (Montgomery) Duley, she married Gene Kelly Layne on April 3, 1946 in Pekin. He died August 27, 1993 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death her parents; two sons, Kelly L. Layne and Terry L. Layne; one sister, Dorothy Duley and two brothers, James Duley and one in infancy.

Surviving are two sons, Tim D. (Maria Guerra) Layne of Pekin and Gregory Layne of Tremont; eight grandchildren, T.J. Layne, Sean Layne, both of Jacksonville, FL, Nick Layne of Tucson, AZ, Erin Watson of Spring Hill, FL, Morgan Coggins of Morton, Jacob Coggins of Alexandria, VA, L.G. (Carrie) Coggins of Melbourne, FL and Clint Coggins of Littleton, CO and four great-grandchildren, Elena Watson, Ty Watson, Emma Watson and Tucker Watson.

A homemaker, Peggy loved being at home and enjoyed ironing and gardening. She especially enjoyed making great food for her family. She was a friend of many.

Peggy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and the Council of Catholic Women.

Her funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father James Pankiewicz will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
