Born November 15, 1953 in Pekin to John William, Sr. and Josephine (Roberts) Gilroy, she married Kevin McCool on November 28, 1987 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are five children, Jamie (Tammy) Moore, Dawn Mayberry, Robert (Lillian) McCool, Kathlene Kyle and Christina (Adam) Cochran; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Linda West.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.
Peggy worked as a sous-chef at the Peoria Civic Center, as a real estate agent and as a bartender. She also worked as a wedding decorator and ran her own catering business.
She enjoyed crafting cooking and shopping garage sales. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Her memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday November 29, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services.
