

Born November 11, 1947 in Canton to Raymond Andrew Sr. and Lillian (Petty) Bassett, he married Vicki Morton on August 3, 1967. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2012.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gerald Bassett and one sister, Donna Shilling.
Surviving are two daughters, Angie Sarff of Havana and Christi (Scott) Smith of Arkansas; two sons, Tony (Sara) Bassett and Jeremiah (Crystal) Bassett, both of Havana; 18 grandchildren, Michael, James, Shawn, Samantha, Ashley, Nancy, Karen, Kody, Kyle, Jordan, Mariah, Madison, Mercedez, Gracelyn, Tim, Robby, Terry and Lindsey; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rodger (Annette) Bassett of Havana; one sister, Kim (Kent) Daniels of Virginia, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
Raymond served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He had owned and operated Bassett Heating & Air Conditioning for more than 30 years.
Raymond was a jack of all trades, had a heart of gold and was a history buff, especially loving to read about General George Patton. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating, spending time with his grandchildren and family friends and taking trips to Mexico with his wife, children and grandchildren.
A private visitation and memorial service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at First Assembly of God in Havana. The Rev. W. Randall Green will officiate.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
