

Born September 9, 1947 in Peoria to Earl Spainhower and Marie Martha (May) Bill, he married Claudia Ann Borsch on February 8, 1969 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years; two sons, Jeremy (Stacy) Bill of Goodyear, Arizona and Jeffrey (Shantel) Bill of Westin, Florida; one daughter, Jennifer (Geoffrey) Hamm of Larkspur, California; seven grandchildren, Megyn, Allyson, Ellie, Olivia, Avery, Jack and Rylee and one sister, Christine Bill of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Raymond was a 1965 graduate of Spalding Academy in Peoria. He then received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Music from Bradley University. In 1972, Raymond received his Master of Science Degree from Illinois State University in Education Administration. He last attended Illinois Central College, where he received his Associates Degree in Computer Science.
He was a former member of the Tazewell County Retired Teachers Association, Illinois Education Association and National Education Association.
Raymond retired from East Peoria District 86 in 2004 after 35 years, where he taught computers. He also worked at the Janssen Law center in Peoria doing technical support.
An avid Chicago Cubs fan, Raymond also enjoyed playing golf. His family was an important aspect of his life.
Raymond was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where he was a former choir director and organist.
His memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will be the celebrant. Visitation will one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Inurnment will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
