

Born January 2, 1914 in New Holland to William Harvard and Sylvia Mae (Horn) Nessler, he married Catherine G. Harms on November 19, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She died November 1, 2001 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alfred Boyd Nessler.
Surviving are one brother, Kenneth L. (Wanda) Nessler of Sun City, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Ray retired from the American Distilling Company in Pekin on March 5, 1979 after 46 years of service as the supervisor over maintenance stewards and receiving.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin and formerly was a member of its Friendship Club. He was a member of Pekin Lodge 29, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois. He also was a member of the Mohammed Temple, Shrine and the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria.
Ray had a great love for animals
Masonic rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, with funeral services immediately following. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
