

Born December 25, 1922 in Windom, Minnesota to Arthur and Jenny (Jewell) Dehmlow, he married Lorene Elaine Gent on October 14, 1944 in El Paso, Texas. She died November 26, 2004 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, three brothers, and three sisters.
Surviving are four daughters, Lynette (Robert) Vanderburg of Mapleton, Janelle (Nick) Gilley of Caldwell, Texas, Deb Kirkpatrick and Cheri Holcomb, both of Pekin; two sons, Paul (Dr. Pamela) Dehmlow of Unionville, Tennessee and Steven (Angie) Dehmlow of Morton; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-one grandchildren.
He served in the United States Army during World War II as a drill instructor.
Rev. Dehmlow served churches in Illinois, South Dakota, and Minnesota for over 36 years. Locally, he pastored at LaMarsh Baptist Church in Mapleton, Crib Ministries in East Peoria, Sonshine Ministries in Sunnyland, and the UAW High-rise in Pekin. He was a 1949 graduate of North Central Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 12 years.
He attended Northwoods Community Church in Peoria.
Rev. Dehmlow loved his Lord, family, and being around others. He enjoyed reading, going for walks, and hunting.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Guy Pfanz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
