

Born March 8, 1927 in Pekin to Orris Everett and Blanche (Bodkin) Miner, he married Mary Jane Barnes in June of 1951. She died in November of 1981. He then married Ellen Seay in 1983. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Scott (Pam) Miner of Minnesota, Karen (Steve) Gray of Green Valley and M. Beth Miner of Macomb; two stepchildren, Rolland (Denise) Reed of Pekin and Debbi (Rex) Montgomery of Springfield, with whom he made his home; three granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; six step-grandsons; eight step-great-granddaughters; three step-great-grandsons and one sister, Mary Alice (Don) Logsdon of Pekin.
His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1948 aboard the LSM 538 in the South Pacific.
A 50-year member of Steamfitters Local 353 in Peoria, Bud worked many years with Aerco and last worked at Sam's Heating and Air Conditioning in Pekin. He originated licensing for heating and air conditioning for the City of Pekin in 1990.
Bud was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 916 in Pekin. He served many years on the Oak Grove Board of Education in Bartonville and was a past president of the Western Illinois University Parents Association.
He was a fan of NASCAR and the Chicago White Sox.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Michael McLeod will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, wheremilitaryrites will be accorded by the Tazewell Military Rites Team and the United States Navy.
