Born March 16, 1976 in Clearfield, Utah to Bonnie (Maxon) Ferdig, he married Monica Pyatt on June 20, 2009 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kiera and Gillian Ferdig of North Pekin; one son, Alik Ferdig; one step-daughter, Aaliyah Hill of North Pekin; one sister, Dawne (Derek) Wade of Pekin; his mother, Bonnie Binegar; one niece, Gabi Wade of Pekin; one nephew, Garrett Wade; 8 sibling-in-laws and many other nieces and nephews.
He had worked for Caterpillar Inc. as a Core Making Specialist for 18 years.
Richard was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed fishing, frisbee golf, music, and cars. He loved spending time with his children and family.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
