

Born June 3, 1938 in Detroit Township, Pike County to William Edward and Edith Ruth (Wheeler) Robinson, he married Nancy Louise Hannant on October 2, 1964 in Quincy. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Kirk Robinson of Los Angeles, California; two daughters, Rhonda (Brandon) Jordan of Atlanta, Georgia and Stacey Robinson of Pekin; one granddaughter, Amy Heinold of Bloomington; four grandsons, Garrett Jordan and Grayson Jordan, both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Preston Robinson and Parker Robinson, both Pekin; three brothers, Bill (Anne) Robinson and Jim (Earline) Robinson, both of Glasgow, Kentucky, and John Robinson of Alexis; and two sisters, Frances Hartman of Morton and Rosemary Robinson of Griggsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
A United States Navy veteran, he served from 1955 to 1959. He served aboard the USS Paricutin.
Richard had worked at Hiram Walker in Peoria as a sub- foreman for 14 years. He later was a truck driver for Jolliff Transportation in East Peoria and last for Star Transport, Inc. in Morton retiring in 2005.
He was of the Catholic faith. Richard enjoyed reading about history.
His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial of cremated remains will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded. There will be no visitation.
