Born March 25, 1948 in Pekin, he was the son of Richard E. and Mildred E. “Millie” (Hancock) Sheppard.
Surviving are two brothers, Michael (Sylvia) McGill and Gregory “Bird” (Bonnie) Sheppard of Pekin; one sister, Linda Mae Maas of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Dick was a caring person who enjoyed watching westerns and loved his dogs.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
