Born October 30, 1959 in Pekin to Marion Lee and Patsy Lou (Bell) Hopkins, he married Michelle Jurewicz in November 1989 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Jessalyn M. Hopkins of Manito; three brothers, Warren G. King of Manito, Heath (Gidgit) Hopkins of Horton, Kansas and Curtis Hopkins of Pekin; and four sisters, Debbie (Mike) Simpkins and Vickie (Andy) Davis, both of Pekin, Christina Anderson of Downs, and Dianna (Jim) Strube of Peoria.
Ricky worked for the Union Mission for many years. He also had worked for the Pekin Bus Department.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Kyle and Richard Petty. He cherished time spent with his daughter, “Nut-Nut”.
His memorial service will be at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
