Born March 29, 1979 in Peoria to Henry F. and Judy A. (Henderson) Whitener, he married Gena M. Williams on July 2, 2004.
Surviving are his wife, of whom they spent 26 years together; one daughter, Shyanne Whitener of Pekin; his mother and step-father, Judy and Merle Northrup of Pekin; his father and step-mother, Henry and Kelly Whitener of Finger, Tennessee and his half-sister, Staci (Andrew) Smith of Peoria.
Riley had worked as a machinist for many years at various companies in the area.
A dedicated husband, father and son, Riley enjoyed his fur babies, cooking, listening to music, watching movies and tinkering with his car.
His memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
