

Born January 16, 1943 in Quincy to Robert L. and Florine (Van Order) Adkison, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Schaub on July 7, 1962 in Kickapoo. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert “Kevin” (Shelly) Adkison and Walter “Scott’ (Dana) Adkison, both of Pekin; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Janet (Joe) Griggs of Camden, Tennessee, Terry Shepherd and Linda (Ed) Jatkowski, both of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Adkison and Rick Henson.
Keith worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years as a general supervisor, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the Marquette Heights Men’s Club and the United States Tennis Association.
Keith was a musician in Peoria in the 60s and 70s and played around the Midwest. Talented in many aspects, he was known for his guitar skills. He loved meeting people and becoming friends and had a great sense of humor.
A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather family was always important to him.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
His memorial Mass will be at 11a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A celebration of Keith’s life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Liberty Hall in Marquette Heights.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
