

Born May 8, 1929 in Bloomington to John Harlan and Nellie (Forthman) Davis, he married Ronda Koontz on January 22, 1988 in Pekin. She survives
Also surviving are his children, Donnie (Eva) Davis of Glasford, David (Paula) Davis of Pekin, Roger Davis of Pekin, Becky Davis of Hennepin, Robin Timmons of Hennepin, Rick Davis of Spring Texas, Ed (Katia) Davis of Pekin, Andy (Sue) Davis of Pekin; four stepchildren, Ted (Jerilynn) Beever, Toni (Ron) Hilst, Ron Beever, Jr. and Ronda K. (Jerry) Powell; two sisters, Irene Bollman of Philo and Leota Green of Joliet; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings and one stepson Terry Beever.
Robert was the jack-of-all-trades and was formerly a farmer, but served as a union carpenter at Tazewell Builders for many years. Most would know Robert from Schnucks in Pekin as a utility clerk, but he also worked for Hansen Dairy and the Railroad.
Robert always enjoyed the outdoors and loved to watch game shows on T.V. in his free time.
His memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at TJ’s Café, 301 East Main Street in South Pekin. A gathering celebrating his life will follow the memorial service until 7 p.m.
