

Born July 15, 1943 in New Madrid, MO to Robert Harold and Theda Jo (Brown) Johnson, Sr., he married Myrna Rae Harms on August 14, 1975 in Geneva. She died March 11, 2012 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry D. Johnson and one sister, Lurlean Maneno.
Surviving are two sons, Dallas Phillip Johnson of Malden, MO and Robert Larry Johnson of Centralia; one daughter, Madonna (Alan) Shorrock of Chunchula, AL; two step-sons, Clayton Smith and Robert Smith; several grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Cutler of Uvalde, TX, Bernadean (Billy) Shelton of Coalmont, TN, Betty Jo (Roger) Peters of Columbia, TN and Elaine (Ben) Nelson of Princess Anne, MD; and two brothers, Jesse (Evonne) Johnson of Pekin and Calvin (Lonnie) Johnson of Doolittle, MO.
He had served in the United States Army.
On July 1, 2007, Robert retired after 25 years of service from St. James Farms, where he was a caretaker for the McCormick family on their 607 acre estate in West Chicago.
His passion was cars. He also enjoyed motorcycles.
His graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. There will be no visitation. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is in charge of arrangements.
