Born August 4, 1943 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Edward Dwight and Mamie Gladys (Dugan) Samuelson, he married Carol Cochran on May 2, 1964 in Fort Scott, Kansas. She survives.
Also surviving are Jeffrey William (Rachel Ann Batto) Samuelson of Birr, Switzerland and Christina Sue (Scott Reliford) Samuelson of Washington and four grandchildren, Annika Samuelson and Sonya Samuelson, both of Birr Switzerland and Justin Reliford of Washington and Ravyn Reliford of Peoria.
He was preceded by his parents and one sister, Darlene Hill.
Robert worked as an engineer at Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville for 38 years, retiring in 2001. After retiring, he was a photographer for the Mid Illini Sporting events.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no service.
