

Born February 5, 1933 in Pekin to Stanley and Estelle (Cozzadd) Stone, he married Marilyn Joyce Stone on April 21, 1956 in Forest City. She died on November 19, 2006 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Susan Stone of Manito; one son, Brian Stone of Pekin; two sisters, Catherine Reed and Charlotte (Donald) Bozarth, both of Pekin.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War
He worked 40 years for Caterpillar, Inc. as a maintenance welder in East Peoria, retiring on January 1, 1992. He later worked as a shuttle driver for Ray Dennison Chevrolet.
Bob was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Pekin where he had been involved in the Primetimers Sunday School Class. He was a former member at First Baptist Church in Pekin.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and gardening.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Randy Justus will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
