

Born October 6, 1951 in Aurora to Leo G. and Mary J. (Carpenter) Nichols, he married Susan Woodhouse on September 4, 1976 in Aurora. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Brandy (Steve) Engelhardt of Quitman, Arkansas, Trisha (Eric Marquez) Warren of Aurora, Ronald (Rebecca) Nichols, Jr. of Manito and Jason (Kamila) Nichols of Montgomery; 16 grandchildren, Alexis, Joey, Mercedes, Olivia, Haley, James, David, Nathan, Ronald “Ronnie” III, Natalie, Kate, Elora, Samuel, Kinga, Zosia and Lukasz; three great-grandchildren, Addison, Elijah and Ember; two sisters, Connie Sports and Joanne (Michael) Roop and two brothers, Lenny (Rose) Nichols and Mike (Paula) Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Donna Phillips and one brother, Thomas “Tommy” Nichols.
Ron was the owner and operator of Nichols Aluminum Siding, retiring in 2013.
He loved to ride motorcycles, hunt deer, camp and go fishing.
A gathering celebrating Ron’s life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Bridgeway Community Church in Pekin. Reverend Darin Fowler and Reverend Beth Bowker will officiate. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
