Rose Ann Crist

Born April 10, 1927 in Pawnee to Herman and Anna (Lipp) Springer, she married Leroy B. “Bud” Crist on August 6, 1946 in Pawnee. He died February 22, 2013 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Herman Springer.

Surviving are one daughter, Rita (Fred) Figg of Laurel, Florida; two sons, Michael (Ruth) Crist of East Peoria and Brett (Deborah) Crist of Pekin; three grandchildren, Robert Crist of Davenport, Iowa, Danielle Crist of East Peoria, and Lucky Kneasal of Glasford; and one brother, William (Rita) Springer of Pawnee.

Bud and Peg owned and operated Cristal Electric in Pekin and later in East Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1980 when their sons took over the business. She also worked for Tazewell Service Company for 14 years, retiring in 1980 as a secretary.

She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and a former member of the Pekin Hospital League.

Peg enjoyed traveling, needlework, and spending time with her family.

Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
