Rose M Wood

Born October 9, 1926 in Mound City to Harve A. and Amanda Elizabeth (McDaniel) Calvin, she married Floyd Chester Wood on February 6, 1943 in Charleston, Missouri. He died March 17, 2003 in Lakeland, Florida. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; one sister and three brothers.

Surviving are three sons, Floyd H. (Mary) Wood and Michael C. (Debby) Wood, both of Marquette Heights and Steve J. Wood of Cookeville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Rose was a self-employed beautician for 10 years, retiring in 1964.

She enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with her family.

Rose was a member of North Pekin Church-Nazarene.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jim Brown will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 4722 N. Sheridan Rd., Peoria, IL 61614.
