

Born December 25, 1940 in Nauborn, Wetzlar, Germany to Christian Helmut and Erna Hildegard (Speiss) Heinz, she married James LeRoy Campbell, Sr. on August 1, 1964 in Long Beach, CA. He survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Sheryll (Husain) Mairza of Kuwait, Debra (Brad) Barnard and Tammy (Max) Damarin, both of Pekin, and Lisa Campbell of Jasonville, IN; one son, James (Rachel) Campbell, Jr. of Spencer, IN; sixteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her caregiver, Donita Stoecker and home healthcare nurse, Tricia Bush.
She was preceded in death by her father, Christian Heinz; mother and step-father, Erna and Aleksander Gromek; and one infant son.
Rose was a hairdresser for 50 years and had worked at Sadler’s, Attitudes & Images, and last at Salon Renaissance, all in Pekin. She retired in 1997.
She had been a member of Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur and the Women of the Moose Chapter #673 in Pekin. She was a life member of the George Maple Memorial AMVETS Post #235 Auxiliary in Pekin.
Rose enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and going to the movies and Par-a-dice Casino. She was a people person who never knew a stranger. Rose was full of joy and love and always lit a room up. She was a generous giver even after her death with her donation to the Illinois Eye Bank.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
