Finally booked a trip back to Peoria today and Mr. Clark was someone I wanted to look up.  I'm saddened to find out he passed away this past May.
He was truly one of a kind, an incredible teacher who loved his students.  I still remember the chess march madness tournament, the stock market challenges, the interior design project, and fraction problems.  No one else could make a math class that much fun. Like Bentley said "Mental Toughness Extra Effort"!

 Dear Linda and family...my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.  I know this has to be hard and there are times when we do not understand why God has taken someone away from us.  He certainly was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Thinking of you and your family, prayerfully.  You have my condolences.  


Roy was a wonderful man and will be missed by many.   His spirit is grand and tall, to live on forever and ever.   God has a special place for such loving individuals.
We are praying for Divine Love and Divine Light to enter into the hearts of all his family and loved ones.

Mr. Clark was a special teacher.  I fondly remember him teaching us about chess and the stock market in his math class.  I didn't realize it at the time, but he taught his students more than math - he taught us how to think.  A true original!  M.T.X.E.

Despite my severe math anxiety, Mr Clark helped me  to be confident in my skills and to be interested in my studies. I can still play chess because of him and and am very grateful for all he put into his students at Oak Grove to see us succeed. 

Mr. Clark was the best! Just his daily presence was enough to respect him. He was a great role model. Rest in heaven Mr. Clark.

Mr. Clark was one of the most interesting and inspiring teachers I have ever had the pleasure to meet and be taught by. I remember sitting in his classroom in the 3rd row from his desk on 09/11/2001 as the World Trade Centers were hit. As other teachers were worrying about if 7th and 8th grade students should be seeing something so gruesome, Mr. Clark was the first to tell them to leave the tvs on. He wanted us to know what was happening so that we could tell our children about it and live in the history that was being made. He was also a heck of a chess player! He will be very missed. My thoughts are with his family. He was definitely one of the good ones. 

Mr. Clark was one of the fun teachers to have! I am thankful to have known him. Condolences to his family and friends!

I had Mr. Clark for history at Oak Grove.  He was an awesome teacher that genuinely cared about his students.  He was one of those teachers that students never forget.  Thank you for the memories!  May he rest in peace.

Roy was a great math teacher to my son, David.  He was a very special individual and was loved by all his students.  He will be missed by many.  I will keep Roy and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

Roy touched the lives of many students at Oak Grove West.  I had the privilege of working with him for many years.  He was so kind, fair and helpful.  He has left a very positive mark in this world.  He will be greatly missed.

Thank you for always being so kind and patient when teaching me math. I still hate math to this day. RIP

We've lost a very special, brave, and gentle man who will live in our hearts and minds forever. He touched many people in his lifetime. Decades of friendship, neverending memories, and smiles when we think of him will be ours to cherish forever.

Mental Toughness Extra Effort - MTXE

Mr. Clark was a special man.  He was my math teacher at Oak Grove in 1991-1992.  He taught with kindness and gentleness, a quality difficult to find, and with a subject so many students can struggle with, he made assignments fun and rewarding.  I remember learning about the stock market and writing a check for the first time under his guidance.  He left and hand print on the hearts of many.  I'm so sorry for your loss.

Terry Ann and I are so sad to hear about Roy's death.  We know what a fighter he was and are praying for Linda, the kids, grandkids and all family members.  He was a great man with a great sense of humor, and intense personality and a rabid love for his family, his country and his Cardinals.
